Terms of Service
Last updated: June 27, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at sgmlaccounting.com (the "Site"), operated by SGML Accounting ("SGML", "we", "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Informational purpose — not professional advice
The content on this Site is provided for general information and education only. It does not constitute accounting, tax, financial, or legal advice, and it should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice tailored to your specific circumstances. Tax and accounting rules change and vary by situation; always consult a qualified professional before acting. Using the Site does not create an accountant–client or other professional relationship between you and SGML. Such a relationship is formed only through a separate, signed engagement.
2. Booking a meeting
The Site lets you book an introductory meeting through a third-party scheduling tool (Google Calendar appointment scheduling). Booking a meeting is an initial conversation only and does not, by itself, engage our services or create any obligation. Information you provide when booking is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — text, articles, graphics, logos, and design — is owned by or licensed to SGML Accounting and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view and share links to our content, but you may not copy, republish, or use it commercially without our prior written permission.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site in any way that is unlawful, that could damage or disrupt the Site, or that attempts to gain unauthorized access to any system or data. You may not use any content from the Site to train AI models or for automated scraping without our permission.
5. Third-party links and services
The Site may link to or rely on third-party services (for example, Google for scheduling and analytics). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party websites or services.
6. No warranty
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that the information on it is complete, accurate, or current.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SGML Accounting will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
